Data Deletion Instructions

This page explains how to ask Marathon Systema LLC to delete data we hold about you, including data obtained through the Meta Business platform (WhatsApp Business Platform, Instagram, and Messenger). It applies whether you are one of our business clients, a visitor to our website, or a person who messaged a business that uses a system we built.
To request deletion, email admin@marathonsystema.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”. We confirm receipt within 5 business days and complete verified requests within 30 days.
1. Read This First: Who Holds Your Data
Marathon Systema builds and operates software on behalf of other businesses. That means there are two different situations, and they are resolved differently.

We will never refuse to help in the second case. We simply cannot delete a business customer's records without that business's instruction, because the records are theirs and deleting them could break their legal obligations.
2. How to Submit a Request
Email admin@marathonsystema.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include:
- Your full name.
- The email address, phone number, or account identifier the data is associated with. For a WhatsApp, Instagram, or Messenger request, include the phone number or handle you used.
- The name of the business you were messaging, if you were messaging one.
- What you want deleted: everything we hold, or a specific category.

3. Verification
We verify identity before acting, because deleting the wrong person's data is itself a privacy incident. Verification normally means replying from the email address on file or confirming details we already hold. We will not ask you for a password or for payment details. If we cannot verify you, we will tell you why and what would satisfy us. An unverified request is refused, not silently ignored.

5. What Gets Deleted
On a verified request we delete, or irreversibly de-identify, the data we control, including:
- Contact records: name, email address, phone number, and business details.
- Message content and conversation history we store on behalf of a business, where that business instructs deletion.
- Form submissions, booking records, and lead records originating from our website.
- Attribution and technical data associated with you, including IP address and campaign parameters.
- Access tokens and platform identifiers held for an integration you have ended.
6. What We May Keep, and Why
Some records survive a deletion request. This is normal and is required or permitted by law. Where we keep something, we keep the minimum and we stop using it for any other purpose.

7. Meta Platform Data
Where we hold data obtained through the Meta Business platform, deleting it on our side does not delete it everywhere. Three separate copies can exist, and each is controlled by a different party.
- Our systems. We delete on a verified request, as described above.
- The business you messaged. It keeps its own records under its own policy, including inside the WhatsApp Business app on its phone. Contact that business.
- Meta. Meta holds data under its own terms. Manage it in your Meta account settings or in the WhatsApp, Instagram, or Messenger app. We cannot delete data from Meta's systems on your behalf.
If a business ends its engagement with us, we delete or return the platform data we processed for that business within 90 days of termination, except for the records listed in Section 6, and we revoke the access tokens associated with the integration.
8. Effect of Deletion
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you are an active client, deleting your data may end our ability to provide services to you and may terminate an active engagement. Deletion does not cancel amounts already owed and does not by itself terminate a contract. We will tell you before we act if a request would have either of these effects.
